This painting is one of a series of four paintings that I call the 'See' series.

The 'See' series refers to the notion of spiritual sight known as clairvoyance.

Those who say that they are clairvoyant believe that they can see multidimensional realities that exist parallel to our own. However, these other realities are not seen with the physical eyes. The paintings are quite literal. Figures with closed eyes are surrounded by many floating, dislocated eyes, representing a way of seeing that is other than physical sight.

This series also speaks of ways of seeing that is often only done with closed eyes, such as dreaming, meditating and visualizing. Slender, alien-like figures emphasize a separation from our familiar physical world. At once they are human and yet non-human, transcended from all earthly desires.
